Chancel Choir  (Sept - May)

The Chancel Choir at First Presbyterian Church plays an integral part in leading worship during the 11:00 worship service.  The choir consists of over thirty dedicated singers who enjoy using their voice to praise God through music.  Highlights of the choir year include singing with an orchestra at the 11:00 p.m. Christmas Eve service and the annual Pentecost Dixieland service.

Rehearsals are Thursday nights from 7-9 p.m. in the second floor music room.  Come and join us for fun and fellowship.  The only prerequisite is a love of music and a love of singing!   Now is the time to make your commitment of time and talent by joining our dedicated and welcoming ensemble of singers.

Summer Choir

Do you enjoy singing and want to join others in making a joyful noise unto the Lord? If you answered “Yes,” come and join the Summer Choir!  Rehearsals will be at 9:00am on June 2, June 9, July 7 and July 14.  We will prepare an anthem and sing for that morning’s worship service.  There are also plenty of openings this summer for Special Music.  If you play an instrument or sing and would like to share your gifts this summer, feel free to contact Chelsea to arrange a Sunday to share your talents.  Contact Chelsea with any questions 426-7421 x137 or cvaught@firstpres-fw.org.

Handbell Choir (First Pres Ringers)

Following a hiatus, the Mallmark bells and chmes are coming out and the Handbell Choir is back!  Rehearsals are on Wednesday nights as part of the Wednesday night programming.  The First Pres Ringers will meet on February 27, March 13, March 27, April 10, April 24, May 8 and May 22 at 7:00 p.m. in room 201.  Youth (junior high and high school) and adults are welcome to join us! The only prerequistie is a basic knowledge of music notation.

Children's Music

Two children's music opportunities are part of Family @ First.  From 6:15 to 6:30 the "Twinkling Stars" (ages 3 to kindergarten) meet in the music room for singing and musical fun.  From 6:30-7:00 the Children's Choir (grades 1 to 5) meets in the music room..  We will meet on the following Wednesday nights: February 27, March 13, March 27, April 10, April 24, May 8 and May 22.  All children between age 3 and grade 5 are invited to come and make a joyful noise unto the Lord!
