Music
"Make a joyful noise to the Lord, all the earth, worship the Lord with gladness; come into his presence with singing." Psalm 100: 1-2 (NRSV).
Music plays a significant role in the life of First Presbyterian Church. We offer musical opportunities for all ages. Chancel Choir is currently rehearsing on Thursday evenings. Handbell Choir and Children's Music are both starting in January (watch for details). To get more information about our choirs, click here.
We are also fortunate to have a wonderful Aeolian-Skinner pipe organ that enriches our worship service each Sunday morning. Outside of worship, this instrument is often heard in recitals. It also is featured in the National Organ Playing Competition held in even numbered years. Watch for information on the 2014 competition. For more information on our organs, click here
The Music Series is an intergral part of the musical offerings presented to the congregation and Fort Wayne community. Click here for a listing of upcoming concerts. Everyone is welcome to attend!
First Presbyterian also hosts a number of other musical events in addition to the music series. Click here for a list of upcoming events.
Everyone is welcome to come and participate in the music program at First Presbyterian Church. If you enjoy singing, handbells, play an instrument or want to assist in any way, contact Dr. Chelsea Vaught, Director of Music at 260-426-7421 x137 or cvaught@firstpres-fw.org
